How It All Started
It all began in 2021 when I was heavily pregnant with my first son. I had a tough pregnancy, with non-stop morning sickness that made it feel almost impossible to wake up, get out of bed, and get to work. I recall dreading having to get dressed, because I knew I didn't have many clothes that fit me at this point in my pregnancy. I remember wishing I could find clothes that would at least help me LOOK good, even though I was definitely NOT feeling great.
This experience stuck with me and when I was pregnant with my second son a few years later, I realised the maternity wear industry hadn't changed much since 2021. More importantly, modest maternity clothes that were thoughtful, comfortable and actually looked nice was so difficult to find.
The Basics Collection
This collection started out as a way to set the scene of Khush's entry into the maternity wear industry. We wanted to show our customers that we have their best interests at heart, because we know and have felt the struggle of finding good quality maternity wear that was modest and comfortable. This is why the collection was named 'Basics', as it serves as the foundation of our designs, and a peek into what we have in store for future collections.
The Pieces ♡
Each individual piece is so close to our heart. We designed it with a lot of purpose and intention, to make sure that anyone that puts it on feels good, inside and out.
The Aman Blouse is the core of the Basics Collection, as the product that inspired not only this line, but the entire brand. Named after the designer's son, Aman was designed with the functionality every mom needs, while prioritising comfort. Wear the Aman Blouse casually or even for work, it'll keep you covered and feeling good.
The Khair Trousers were designed to complete the set to the Aman Blouse, but we later realised it looks great on its own too. For the days that you need to do a quick errand run, or even if you've got a big fun family day planned, the Khair will support you throughout your day.
The Selesa Dress is the Aman Blouse's big sis, as a comfy alternative for the chill days, the busy days, and the "I didn't know people were coming over" days. The Selesa Dress has all the features of the Aman Blouse, with added side pockets for even more functionality.
We're so so excited that we get to share our designs with you. It has been such an adventure creating and designing the Basics Collection for you, and we extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude for your support. We hope you enjoy the Selesa Dress as much as we enjoyed creating it for you.
